Accessibility statement

Iconic Voices is an audiobook service, so listening is the point — but finding a book, signing in, reading along and managing your account should work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification or larger text.
Our goal
We aim for the website and the web player at iconicvoices.io to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. For the iPhone app we follow Apple's accessibility guidance and aim for it to work with VoiceOver, Voice Control and larger text sizes. We are not there everywhere yet, and we say below where we fall short.
What already works
- Free voice samples come with read-along text: the words are shown, and highlighted as they are spoken.
- Every AI voice and every AI-generated portrait is labeled in text, including in the text alternative of each portrait.
- The moving background on the home page follows your system's reduce-motion setting and has a pause control.
- Pages use real headings, and the policy pages start with a "Skip to content" link.
- You can sign in with a 6-digit code sent by email, without having to remember a password.
Known limitations we are fixing
An audit in October 2026 found these barriers. Fixes are in progress, and we review this list with every release:
- Some buttons and cards do not yet show a clearly visible keyboard focus indicator.
- Some small text placed over photographs — including the AI disclosure line under samples — has lower contrast than WCAG requires.
- The scrolling read-along text cannot yet be scrolled with the keyboard in Safari and Firefox.
- On the website, the fixed mini player can cover a focused element or the end of a page.
- Some form errors are not yet announced next to the field they belong to.
- The cookie banner can hold keyboard focus while it is open.
- Not every page has a "Skip to content" link and a single main landmark yet.
Tell us about a barrier
If something does not work for you — on the website, in the web player or in the app — email support@iconicvoices.io with the subject "Accessibility". Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device and assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable sharing that. A person reads every message, and we reply within 2 business days. If you need any of our policies or account information in another format, such as plain text by email, ask and we will send it.
