Every voice on Iconic Voices is an AI-generated interpretation or actor-voiced reading — not a lost archival recording. For AI-voiced books, a model trained on authentic archival audio of the author reads a text the author never recorded. For actor-voiced books (e.g., Einstein), a human voice actor performs in the style of the author.

How the voices are built

• Source material — all AI training material and voice reference comes from public-domain archival recordings and writings held by institutions such as the Library of Congress, British Library, BBC Archives, and Internet Archive.
• AI-generated interpretation — our pipeline analyzes prosody, accent, breathing, and cadence, then generates new speech inspired by those patterns.
• Labelling — every audiobook carries a visible "AI-voiced" or "Actor-voiced in the style of…" tag in-app, in metadata, and on the product page.

Texts

All MVP titles are in the public domain (published before 1930 in most jurisdictions, or explicitly released). No copyrighted works are reconstructed without a license.
